Interested in meeting others to discuss and recommend the books you've enjoyed, or just to share your passion for reading? You'll find a very warm welcome at "Wilde About Books", Bromley Libraries' friendly and informal LGBT reading group!
We're a friendly and informal group that meets each month to discuss what we've read over a glass or two of wine and a selection of Marks & Spencer finest savoury snacks! Just to give you a flavour, some of the books we have read so far are: "Rough Music" by Patrick Gale; "A Home at the End of the World" by Michael Cunningham; "The Night Watch" by Sarah Waters; and "Trumpet" by Jackie Kay. All titles are chosen by the group.
This month (December) we're reading "In Search of the Missing Eyelash" by Karen Mcleod, a local author (from Penge!) It's a novel about home and love and loss and what can become undone when we try to make it all better. It's also about gender and sex and it flips from heartbreaking to hilarious within the stroke of an eyelash.
So come along and join us for a drink, a laugh and a chat!
Books, wine and nibbles provided! And you don't even need to live locally or join the library - all welcome!
