27 July 2011: Visit to a few good real ale pubs in North London
We are Lesbian and Gay Real Ale Drinkers (LAGRAD), part of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), and we're visiting a few pubs in North London
With apologies for the last minute timing, hopefully this will make up for a slack few months in London.
The crawl will start at the Southampton Arms in Gospel Oak (NW5 1LE). This pub is a CAMRA pin-up, with 18 handpumps serving (approximately half) real ales, (and approximately half) real ciders and perries, and NO lagers or Guinness. It's almost a pub crawl without the crawl, and we will stay here for a good 1.5-2 hours.
Our second pub is the Junction Tavern, on the way to Kentish Town (NW5 1AG). July is apparently `locale' month (though the description might be disputed, with beers allowed from up to 30 miles away!). There are five handpumps, and ales are scheduled from Sambrook's, Windsor & Eton, Fullers, Redemption, Twickenham Fine Ales, Brodies Beers, and Meantime Brewery.
We end at The Oxford, by Kentish Town tube (NW5 2AA). While this is more a gastropub, hopefully the demand for tables will have slackened by 10ish, and we can enjoy their ales which are reputed to have `a Cornish theme'. This is clearly loosely defined, as Hooky and Harveys have been spotted alongside the Skinners and Sharps.

I'm a gregarious, socialble character, who likes going out and being in a group (two's a group though, if it's the right person). I'm rather partial to good real ales, of which there are many. I'm involved with Lesbian and Gay Real Ale Drinkers, part of the Campaign for Real Ale and I joined OUTeverywhere initially to organise real ale social events in London and the Brighton area
