10 January 2008: T-sides out Gay Social Group
T-sides out is a friendly social and support group for gay men over the age of 18. We meet in a safe secure location in central Middlesbrough, usually on a Thursday evening, between 7 and 9pm
Our members rang from age 19 to 50+ and come from every kind of gay background and experience. Members are expected to respect each other and have sensitivity towards each other's status and emotional well-being.
It is not required that any member be in an active gay relationship, or active sexual lifestyle nor need they ever have been.
We organise various social events; these are decided by the members themselves and you only come to what you want. Things we've done:
Trips to Newcastle
Meals out
Invited speakers - Police, commercial products of interest, alternative therapies
Trips away - Brighton, Glasgow, Blackpool
Rambles
Swimming/Ten Pin Bowling
Wine and cheese
Video nights, Theatre and Cinema
T-sides out members also have access to the following:

A selection of books with gay and bisexual themes
A range of magazines for gay and bisexual men
Free condoms and lube
Access to specialist counselling
Information on Sexual Health
Other information of general interest to gay and bisexual men
Contact to other local specialist agencies.
We are currently involved in the Middlesbrough Hate Crime Initiative and the TRUE VISION scheme to encourage more gay men to report homophobic crime.
We are also involved in the Second annual celebration by the gay community on Teesside, the 'Super Gay Weekender' to be held in September. Ask for details. I'm shy around new people, sensitive, in touch with feelings. I live alone (well with 2 cats!) have my own library of books (2000) and films (900). I write, make my own wine, love walking, countryside.
