The WaGG Winter Wednesday Walk, Wakefield, West Yorkshire
28 December 2011: The WaGG Winter Wednesday Walk
Two members from the Wakefield Gay Group are organising a Winter Walk around the Secker Woods.
It is suggested that we meet at the Newmillar Dam as the sculpture park will be heaving and parking is expensive whereas the Newmiller car park is at council prices. We can sort out either a shortish walk around the lake or a longer one through the woods and farmland and then
Short walk is about 45 mins around the lake, Longer walk through Secker woods and fields then dropping down to the lake is about 1 1/2 to 2 Hours.
Then the plan is to finish at the pub for a late lunch. The other possibility is to start off with the lunch and meet later and then walk it off. This would also take into account my thoughts earlier about standing around in the freezing cold. Again what do people think?
There is still some flexibility on arrangements and please let us know your views and comments and we will aim to please.
Proper joining and meeting details including fuller directions will be given nearer the time. I just wanted to get something posted due to the shortness of time. I will have my mobile with me on the day. The number is [number available to members only] 47. Nearer the time, I will also let people know what I'll be wearing etc to make finding the group easier. The final joining details are that we meet in the car park opposite the Fox and Hounds pub. the Postcode for tNewmillerdam Car Park WF2 6QQ at 11am for a prompt start. The weather forecast is good and the suggestion is to do the longer walk, which is approximately 1.5.Hours. I will have my mobile with me in case of need. The number is [number available to members only] 47.
OUTeverywhere member organiser
This event has been added to the OUTeverywhere calendar by Michael Dolphin from Huddersfield in the West Yorkshire area.
I am a caring and considerate person who is genuine, helpful and quite creative. I am a qualified counsellor and Lifeskills trainer. I am a good listener and am sensitive to the needs of others. Much more in my writings. About to move to Wakefield in early July 2011 and keen to make new friends in the Wakefield/Leeds or Sheffield areas, as I know very few people in the area.
