6 October 2007: The London Song Festival, opening concert.
A concert of songs from and inspired by Greece, performed by four singers and piano.
Shake off the gloom of a grey London October by coming to the opening night of the London Song Festival, a concert of songs from and inspired by Greece. Four singers including soprano Katherine Broderick (winner of the 2007 Kathleen Ferrier Award) with myself (Nigel Foster) on the piano will perform a programme with songs including Lieder by Schubert, Brahms and Wolf, Debussy's Chansons de Bilitis, Greek songs by Jiannis Constantinidis and English songs by Geoffrey Bush, Pater Warlock and Eric Coates.
This is the opening concert of the inaugural London Song Festival, which is very much my baby - I'm the founder and director as well as the pianist, so please come and support me by coming to as many of the concerts as possible. Full details at www.londonsongfestival.org
