The Gay Gordons, 279 Upper Street, London, London
2 October 2008: The Gay Gordons
Weekly Scottish country dance club for gay people and their friends. Although not many people sign up to say they're coming through Out, there are regularly between 30 and 40 people at the dance.
The GGs is friendly, and more about having a good time than getting all the steps right. Our intermediate class (on Mondays) means that this class is now even more welcoming for beginners. The evening starts with ten minutes of step practice, get there on time if you are a beginner or would like to improve your steps. The evening then continues with two hours of dances, all of which are explained first by the RSCDS-accredited teacher John and then danced. The evening finishes at 9.10, GGs normally dance with different people in each dance, and an evening with us is a great social time, and one of the best ways to exercise too.

This event is promoted by one of OUTeverywhere's Event Partners. Our partners are commercial venues, social groups or not-for-profit organisations that create events bringing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people together. We're pleased to support The Gay Gordons—find out more about our great Event Partner Network.
A Scottish dancing group for gay people and their friends. Our main aim is to have fun, which means that previous knowledge and experience of dance moves comes a distinct second. All dances are explained by our experienced teacher John, and then it is into the dance itself. A Thursday evening starts with ten minutes of step practice which is normally followed by six or seven dances, a great deal of exercise, and loads of laughter. Our Monday evening classes are for those who know their steps.
