Sunday Lunch at Angel of the North, Gateshead, London
12 September 2010: Sunday Lunch at Angel of the North
Fancy a hair of the dog, a scrummy lunch, and a chance to get up close to Britains most famous sculpture, on the day after the Newcastle OUT Party?
It's traditional to have a Sunday Lunch the day after OUT Parties. So how about popping out for Lunch with Britains most famous statue?
This is the Plan...
Meet at the Angel at 1.00, Have a wander round the Angel and do all the usual photo opportunities :-)
Then wander over the road at 2.00 to the lovely Angel View Inn for their Carvery Lunch. It's usually Beef, Turkey, Fish, Lamb and veggie options and help-yourself to as much potato, veg and yorkshire puddings you can fit on the large plate. It costs £7.95. Drinks are average for the area (i.e. not pricey).

HOW TO GET THERE
The North East OUTers can easily find their own way there.
The OUT of towners who are staying in Newcastle can get the 21 or 22 Angel Bus from the same street the OUT Party is on - St Nicholas Street. It's a 20-25 minute journey, and you can't miss the stop to get off (theres this great big metal man with wings).
Obviously the return journey is the same in reverse.
Alternatively, a taxi from Newcastle would cost about £20-25. If you're sharing one with a few people it may be an option.
There is also a car park next to the Angel, and a bigger one at the Angel View Inn, for the local drivers. The entrance to the Pub Car Park, is just off the roundabout, take the turn-off for Wrekenton. See the map below.
I'll be coming from my Dad's in Durham, so I'll meet you all at the Angel.
