Naturally there'd be no entrance fee, you'd just need to turn up with your own blanket and the food you'd like to eat, perhaps some Pimms or Champagne. None of this ticket palavar would be needed as there is no venue to book.
What if it rains?
Don't panic if the less than reliable British weather's not up to scratch then we will simply move the fun to the Kazbar on Clapham High Street.
Date confusion
Please note - this is now the weekend before the OUT Summer Party - I've not brought it forward, the party has been delayed a week but dut to various circumstances I can not personally attend the weekend of 28/29 July.
I am sorry to any out of town OUTers who wanted to do both in one weekend - that was the orignal reason for choosing this date but as I said the party was moved.
Hopefully next year there won't be any last min changes to plans.
I'm not London based myself but as so many OUTers are and it's pretty easy for anyone to get to the capital I've opted for London, especially with the OUT Summer Party being the evening before (this is no longer the case).
Marcus has also promoted this event to his non-OUT based friends via his website www.marcushacker.com so there will be new friends to meet too.
The food is a bit of a free for all, naturally if you want an excuse to show off your picnic hamper and home made chicken wings then carry on and equally if you just want to grab a "pret" enroute then that's fine to - no one will be judging your efforts.
Please note that BBQs and Fires are strictly forbidden. This is not my personal rule but the rule of the common. Please do not bring BBQs not matter how small as you will not be able to light them.
Apart from that there are no rules, arrive when you want and stay as long as you'd like, bring games or music or what ever you fancy.
Partners, friends, children, dogs etc are all welcome.
If you've got them please bring along any outdoor games, giant Jenga, a swingball etc.
This is the first event I've organised and I look forward to seeing you. I am sorry the Summer Party has been moved and I hope the fact these are no longer on the same weekend doesn't make this event a flop.

Please note the summer party is now the FOLLOWING WEEK - this picnic has not been brought forward, that is now a week later.
JUST FOR FUN
This should get you thinking. An extract taken from the ORIGINAL Mrs Beeton's Book of Household Management 1861
BILL OF FARE FOR A PICNIC FOR 40 PERSONS
A joint of cold roast beef, a joint of cold boiled beef, 2 ribs of lamb, 2 shoulders of lamb, 4 roast fowls, 2 roast ducks, 1 ham, 1 tongue, 2 veal-and-ham pies, 2 pigeon pies, 6 medium-sized lobsters, 1 piece of collared calf's head, 18 lettuces, 6 baskets of salad, 6
cucumbers.
Stewed fruit well sweetened, and put into glass bottles well corked; 3 or 4 dozen plain pastry biscuits to eat with the stewed fruit, 2 dozen fruit turnovers, 4 dozen cheesecakes, 2 cold cabinet puddings in moulds, 2 blancmanges in moulds, a few jam puffs, 1 large cold plum-pudding (this must be good), a few baskets of fresh fruit, 3 dozen plain biscuits, a piece of cheese, 6 lbs. of butter (this, of course, includes the butter for tea), 4 quartern loaves of household broad, 3 dozen rolls, 6 loaves of tin bread (for tea), 2 plain plum cakes, 2 pound cakes, 2 sponge cakes, a tin of mixed biscuits, 1/2 lb, of tea. Coffee is not suitable for a picnic, being difficult to make.
Things not to be forgotten at a Picnic
A stick of horseradish, a bottle of mint-sauce well corked, a bottle of salad dressing, a bottle of vinegar, made mustard, pepper, salt, good oil, and pounded sugar. If it can be managed, take a little ice.
It is scarcely necessary to say that plates, tumblers, wine-glasses, knives, forks, and spoons, must not be forgotten; as also teacups and saucers, 3 or 4 teapots, some lump sugar, and milk, if this last-named article cannot be obtained in the neighbourhood. Take 3 corkscrews.
Beverages: 3 dozen quart bottles of ale, packed in hampers; ginger-beer, soda-water, and lemonade, of each 2 dozen bottles; 6 bottles of sherry, 6 bottles of claret, champagne a discretion, and any other light wine that may be preferred, and 2 bottles of brandy. Water can usually be obtained so it is useless to take it.

Don't let me catch you saying "pardon?". I'm in agreement with Jilly Cooper on this one. Very few things in life phase me and I mix with all races, religious views and classes. I've no time for closets though As far as I'm concerned it's homophobia. On a lighter note if you fancy coming camping in August check out quickfind:352200
