11 March 2008: Summer Holiday - The Musical
Altogether... "We're all going on a summer holiday, no more working for a week or two..." LAMPS (the Local Amateur Musical Players) are performing the Cliff Richard film/Darren Day musical classic. Singing, dancing, boys *and* girls live on stage!
I'm appearing as Cyril, one of the four main 'boys' in this fantastic show about a group of London Transport mechanics who decide to take a bus from the UK to the South of France.
On the way they pick up a performing troupe of girls who have broken down on the side of the road and try to get them to Athens in time for their opening night!
A cast of over 40 people and a live orchestra provide the backing to songs including Summer Holiday, Bachelor Boy, Dancing Shoes, Living Doll, The Young Ones and Do you Wanna Dance, to name but a few.
A welcome slice of summer in dingy March! For tickets, call the box office on [number available to members only] 573. Price: £10 (£8 concessions). If you book before 20th January, tickets are just £6! Shows: 7.30pm each night, Saturday matinee at 2.30pm Tuesday 11th is charity gala night in aid of HOSPICE IN THE WEALD and the PICKERING CANCER DROP IN CENTRE
