Join a reading and discussion of this 1950s Philip King play. Juvenile delinquent accuses popular local vicar of molesting him. Would the small town reaction be the same today?

The play was first produced in 1955 and filmed in 1959. It's in three acts, with nine characters (5 men, 4 women). I have a reading set of 10 copies
so that 'volunteers' can read a part each for a scene or act, then swop round and give others a chance. The idea is to hear it and have a discussion on themes, characters, situation, attitudes and relevance, if any, for today.
Reading lead by Jeffrey Doorn Jeffrey Doorn is a writer (Paradise Press), actor (Drill Hall, Royal Court, Albery, Southwark Playhouse) and community activist (Southwark/Lambeth CHE, Friends of Carnegie Library, Herne Hill Society, Southwark LGBT Network). American by birth, he lives in Herne Hill with his civil partner, Stephen.

Established in 2002, The Southwark LGBT Network is a social and support group of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people and their friends who live and work in Southwark. The Network is run by volunteers from the LGBT community and aims to create a series of safe spaces for all LGBT people in the borough. It tries to ensure that its activities are not set in pubs or other alcohol related venues.
