This is the ideal place to meet and/or make friends with others who enjoy a chat and a pint of real ale.
This is the ideal place to meet and make new friends who enjoy a chat and drinking real ales or ciders. The Vat and Fiddle is the Brewery Tap of Castle Rock Brewery (The brewery is just behind the pub) and it normally has four Castle Rock Beers on sale together with at least 6 other ever changing guest beers, most from Micro Breweries. The is usually a real Cider available as well as a range of continental bottled beers.
The chat is not solely about beer, as the conversation can roam over many topics however talking about beer is the main purpose of the Real Ale Social. You can find information concerning local and national Beer Festivals, Pub Beer Festivals, new breweries and beers, where the good pubs both local and further afield are located and if interested take part in an organised pub crawl.
If you're new to the Real Ale Social's look out for an A5 sign with a beer glass on and the words Real Ale Social usually located on a window cill and you'll find us next to it.
If there is sufficent interest there might be a mini pub crawl after.

I'm 58, out only to gay friends, have a great sense of humour, love meeting friends for laughs at and to plan trips. I'm no adonis, but could be a great friend. I'm a romantic and young at heart. I'm seeking preferably younger friends who have similar interests. My interests includes photography, Reading, Music (classical but not exclusively) singing, visiting real ale pubs, travel, Computers and collecting things.
