Queer Playback Theatre Workshop, Kentish Town, London

24 March 2012: Queer Playback Theatre Workshop

A participatory theatre workshop for LGBT people. Interactive and spontaneous, playback theatre bases its material on the stories of the community, Playback Theatre draws people together and allows fresh perspectives. No previous experience required.

This is a participatory theatre workshop, whilst no previous experience is required, a willingness to play, to have fun, to share personal story and take part in physical activity is essential! The workshop will use our own stories as Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transgender men and women to create immediate and spontaneous improvised theatre.

About Playback Theatre

Playback Theatre is a form of improvisational theatre in which the audience tells their stories which are then immediately re-enacted for them by a company of actors.

Interactive and spontaneous, playback theatre bases its material on the stories of the community. In theatres, workshops, and a wide range of community, educational and organisational settings, Playback Theatre draws people together and allows fresh perspectives.

About Queer Playback Theatre

Queer Playback Theatre was formed in 2011to build a space in which LGBT people could share their stories in a safe environment, knowing the actors share similar experiences, to challenge stereotypes, prejudice and discrimination in society and to promote equality and acceptance of difference and diversity.

Queer Playback Theatre is developing a UK wide network of LGBT people who are willing to come together to participate in workshops and performances for the LGBT community across the UK.

Cost: £25 Please contact us if cost is a barrier to your participation. Queer Playback Theatre is a not-for-profit organisation, charges made are to cover basic costs of venue hire, publicity etc. For more information or to register: email: [email address available to members only] visit the Queer Playback Theatre Blog: http://queerplaybacktheatre.blogspot.com/ or find us on facebook, search for queer playback theatre and join our group!

photoOh dear, a blank box to fill... always so hard. If only life was such a blank box but as we all know it is not and so we all find that life is full of all sorts of things; some absolutely great, some that challenge, some that inspire, that bring comfort, love and peace and then there are thise things we'd rather not have to deal with but then they are all part.
