Queer Playback Theatre Workshop, Marylebone, London
18 November 2011: Queer Playback Theatre Workshop
This is a friendly and interactive introductory playback theatre workshop in which you will have fun learning some drama skills and sharing your stories, combined with the opportunity to see a playback theatre performance at first hand.
Playback Theatre is spontaneous improvised theatre - the audience tells their stories and the actors re-enact them. It's unexpected, exciting, moving, often hilarious. Arnet Donkin, Jane Hoy and Lorna Henry founded QPT to build a space in which LGBT people could share their stories in a safe environment, knowing the actors share similar experiences.
This is a simple, short taster - we'll play a few games to help people get to know each other, introduce some basic ideas of what playback theatre is then do a short, informal performance for participants so you can watch what playback theatre is, and have an opportunity to share some stories.
No experience is required and nobody will be asked to do things they do not feel comfortable with.
We have a mailing list so if you want to be kept informed about future events we run, send me your email and name and you will be added.
We are hoping to build a queer playback theatre company to perform at LGBT events around the UK. for more information visit our blog: queerplaybacktheatre.blogspot.com or send me a message and I'll get back to you. to book: www. thecockpit.org.uk/ for details about the festival: www.gaywisefestival.org.uk/

Oh dear, a blank box to fill... always so hard. If only life was such a blank box but as we all know it is not and so we all find that life is full of all sorts of things; some absolutely great, some that challenge, some that inspire, that bring comfort, love and peace and then there are thise things we'd rather not have to deal with but then they are all part.
