Pride London Stewarding, London
4 July 2009: Pride London Stewarding
Pride needs you! Could you spare a few hours on the 4th July to help steward for Pride London? Go on - you get a lovely yellow t-shirt for your troubles!
For those who don't know, every year Pride London organise the Pride Parade; a huge LGBT parade that runs through the centre of London. But we couldn't do it without volunteers! If you are interested in volunteering please follow the link below:

Please then attend one of the training sessions. These are as follows:
Thursday 18th Rainforest Cafe, Shaftesbury Avenue 7:30 pm Start.
Saturday 20th KU Bar, Lisle Street 2 pm Start.
Tuesday 23rd KU Bar, Lisle Street 7 pm Start.
Thursday 25th Rainforest Cafe, Shaftesbury Avenue 7:30 pm Start.
The training session will tell you all that you need to know about the day.
If you do volunteer, please make sure you bring:
suntan lotion
a hat
steward's briefing pack that you'll be sent
pen and paper
And please wear trousers or shorts with lots of pockets to put things in!
You'll be provided with things like earplugs, rain poncho and water.
On the day, please turn up at Paddington Street Gardens (nearest tube is Baker Street) to sign in (known as "Assembly"). Assembly opens from around 7:30am. If you want to help out with signing in other stewards then please turn up early. Otherwise, it would be helpful if you could turn up by 9am. In any case, you must sign in by 11am as Assembly will close then.
There will be a cloakroom where you can leave your bag (please don't bring anything larger than a normal rucksack; no suitcases please!). Note that you WILL NOT be able to collect your bag again until the Parade has finished and all the participants have dispersed (around 4:30pm).
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO STEWARD IF YOU ARE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DRINK OR DRUGS.
Finally, do come along, have fun, enjoy the day and encourage your friends (whether gay or not) to volunteer!
