Pride London couldn't take place without the support of volunteers. If you missed the training sessions don't despair. You can still volunteer; training will be provided on the day.
On the day itself, you can arrive anytime between 8:30 and 11:30 (but the earlier the better). You can steward with friends if you like; you will need to decide which of you will act as the Senior Steward. You will generally be in groups of 5 though that may vary.
YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO STEWARD IF YOU ARE DRUNK OR UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DRUGS.
You may want to bring:
• sunglasses if its sunny
• a hat if its sunny
• sun tan lotion if its sunny
• bottle of water
• an a to z (useful but not essential)
Waterproofs will hopefully be provided in cases of rain (though of course it won't!!).
You'll be given a stewards pack when you register. This will have useful things in it like ear plugs and other protective equipment. You'll be asked to wear a stewards t-shirt (yellow for stewards, red for senior stewards). PLEASE DON'T ALTER THE T-SHIRT OR COVER UP THE WORD "STEWARD" ON IT; ITS IMPORTANT THAT IT IS VISABLE AT ALL TIMES SO THAT THE POLICE AND GENERAL PUBLIC KNOW THAT YOU ARE A PRIDE STEWARD. Pride will provide storage for ONE small bag (no wheelie suitcases please!). You will receive a ticket for it; please keep it safe.
You should be finished by around 4pm (that's approximate!). You will need to sign out. And thats it! Job done! You can enjoy your afternoon in the knowledge that you have helped run a successful day. Meet at Paddington Gardens around 8am - 9am. I'll be the one in the pretty green t-shirt.
