Teignmouth and Ivybridge Community Choirs perform David Haines' science oratorio exploring the universe at many scales of magnitude from String Theory at the smallest to the Cosmos at the largest. Part of Teignmouth Science Festival.
Powers of Ten has been performed in Cambridge, Massachusetts; Ivybridge, Devon; Dawlish, Devon, but this is its first performance in Haines' home town and the first by an adult choir.
Further performances are planned over the next year at Sidmouth (Norman Lockyer Observatory), Birmingham (British Science Festival), Washington DC (USA Science and Engineering Festival), Newcastle Science Festival. Don't miss this chance to hear it at a local venue.
It's a sequence of 22 songs on subjects as diverse as Bacteria, Black Holes, Amoebae and Atoms. The range of musical styles is as wide as the subject matter.
