28 June 2007: Out trip to Munich - long weekend 28 June to July 3rd
long weekend 28 Jun-3 Jul: invite to all interested outers to visit Munich. Once we have numbers and more specific dates, an itinerary will be prepared. Outers will have to make flight bookings themselves but I may be able to book hotel rooms.

which including me makes seven. I hope we all have a super and truly Bavarian time in two weeks.
Because of the staggered nature of arrivals and leavings, this is the provisional agenda (note that the cycle tour of Munich has been left for the Saturday, when most people will be there):
Thursday 28: quickfind:bellthecat will meet quickfind:a_gentle_giant, quickfind:johndevon, quickfind:patrick and quickfind:martin_b at the airport. (poss also with johnc when I know how he is arriving) - then after everyone is in hotels, if there is still time, a welcome bier in the Augustiner bierkeller
Friday 29: meet at 9:30am at the Hauptbahnhoff to get the train to one of:
Bechtersgaden
Garmisch-Partenkirchen
Chiemsee, Amarsee, Starnbergersee or Tegernsee for boat rides and picnics under the alps.
(depends on consensus or weather)
Supper at Ayingerbräukeller
Saturday 30: meet at Hauptbahnhoff 9:30am to rent bicycles (think it is about €20 per bike) for a bellthecat bicycle tour of Munich to include:

The Altstadt
Asam kirche
Theatiner kirche
St Peter'sturm
Marienplatz
The Viktualienmarkt
Odeonsplatz
The Residenz
Hoffgarten
Englishergarten
Chinesenturm
Seehaus
The day will be punctuated by frequent biers because Munich is the capital of bier andd the biergartens are the glory of a Munich summer. Radlers, schorls and Russie also available for those avoiding alcohol or inebriation.
Sunday 1: meet 9:30am at the Hauptbahnhoff for a trip to Rehgensburg by train to see:
The spectacular old city
the world's oldest fast food stand
Then take the ferry to the Weltenburg Monastery, the Danube Gorge, the Befreiungshalle. The view from the top of Befreiungshalle, built to celebrate the victories over Napoleon are among the best in Germany. (I am still trying to get details for this, so itinerary might alter)
Monday 2: for those still here and with the time, vist the Olympiapark, Dalmayrs, Bavaria monument and the Wiesen, walking and sunbathing on the Isar etc
