27 May 2008: OUT Spirituality Group - Blue, Yellow, Green, Red...
Colour has a distinctive effect on human emotions and behaviour. In this series of meditations we will harness the power of different colours as we each seek to move forward on our personal journey of self-discovery and personal growth.
Our first meditation in the series is themed around blue.
You are encouraged to come along and take part actively in the meditation and in the discussion that will follow. To achieve the maximum benefit from our session, we strongly recommend that you lie down on the floor for the duration of the meditation with your eyes closed. There is a carpet on the floor, and this part of the evening will be no longer than approx 40 minutes. If you will find this uncomfortable, you are welcome to bring a cushion or a blanket. People who have severe difficulty in lying on the floor or getting up from a prone position are welcome to remain seated; those who wish to lie down will have priority for carpet space!
After the break we will look at other colours and their effects.
This series of meditations is cumulative: each one will build upon earlier sessions. You will gain most if you are able to attend all the sessions, but please do not be put off if this is not possible for you.
The second meditation in the series will be on 16th September.

The Out Spirituality Group is a friendly meeting of like-minded gay people who have an interest in spirituality. We look at a variety of topics and issues, with the aim of enabling people to broaden their knowledge and experience of spiritual matters (whatever that means for each of us).
There are opportunities to discuss our journey thus far, where we are at, and where our journey may be taking us.
Whilst the prime focus is on spirituality, by participating in the evening we have an opportunity to build friendships and to network – and to form connections that will have a positive effect on our lives and potentially in ways that we cannot yet envisage. It is more than meetings!!

After the meeting we go to a local gay pub, where space is reserved for us. This is a further chance to continue discussion and to get to know people. Food is available at a modest cost.
