Two approaches to Meditation: Buddhist and Primordial Sound
This evening we have the opportunity to learn about and experience two forms of meditation. The first will be Buddhist, the second Primordial Sound. We will learn about each approach and also experience a meditation session.
Buddhist meditation: Dirk has been practising meditation in a number of Buddhist traditions for about twenty years. He did a four year meditation retreat as a monk at a traditional Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Scotland. He has been leading a gay Buddhist group at Kairos-in-Soho for over three years. Dirk has a doctorate in music, and works as a teacher.
Primordial Sound Meditation: is a very specific time-tested meditation technique dating back thousands of years to the ancient Vedic traditions of India. The essential aspects of these timeless teachings have been maintained in their pure, original form, ensuring the most beneficial experience.
Peggy O'Hare trained with Deepak Chopra and teaches Primordial Sound Meditation. She is also the UK Conversation Leader of The Alliance for a New Humanity.
The Out Spirituality Group is a friendly meeting of lesbians and gay men who have an interest in spirituality and self-development. It is an opportunity to discuss, with respect for others in the group, what our journey means for each of us. Each meeting we look at different subjects and issues about spirituality and growth. It is also a great way to meet other like-minded people and have fun. At the end of each meeting we retire to a local pub to take the opportunity to get to know each other better.
We meet fortnightly on Tuesday evenings - each event will be advertised separately.
