Swirral Camping Barn - Lake District 29th June - 1st July We'll be camping at Swirral Camping Barn one of a group of mine buildings, situated at 1,000ft on the flank of the Helvellyn Range
What is a Camping Barn?
As a general rule imagine you are camping but you don't need a tent. As a minimum they comprise a sleeping area shared by all visitors, tables and benches for eating and preparing food, a supply of cold running water and a flush toilet.
Location description:
One of a group of mine buildings, situated at 1,000ft on the flank of the Helvellyn Range. Popular routes to Striding Edge and Swirral Edge pass the door, and there is quick access to Ullswater and the Eastern Fells.
Facilities: Sleeping platform is on the first floor. There is a slate cooking area, cold tap and toilet, plus electric lighting. Nearest pub is only 1 mile away, with the nearest village store only 1.5 miles away. Popular walking on helvellyn and surrounding fells. Rowing and Sailing on Ullswater.
