25 August 2007: OUTback Marine Discovery Expedition '07 SOLD OUT
This is a sub-event of Quickfind:270449 OUTback Camping in Cornwall and is available only to people attending that event. Join us on an RIB fast inflatable seating eight passengers and spend two hours exploring the marine wildlife of West Cornwall.

This is a sub-event of Quickfind:270449 OUTback Camping in Cornwall and is available only to people attending that event. Join us on an RIB fast inflatable seating eight (maybe nine) passengers and spend two hours exploring the marine wildlife of West Cornwall.
We did this at the 2006 OUTback and the expedition was a great success, so we are repeating it for 2007. See www.marinediscovery.co.uk
Note that they have a slightly bigger and better boat this year, seating 8/9 passengers, and that the cost is £30 for the two hour trip.
The trip is set for Saturday 25th August departing the campsite at 12 noon, but may be postponed to the Sunday if the sea and weather conditions are not suitable on the Saturday.
You will spend two hours cruising at high speed around the coastal waters of Mounts Bay and the Land's End area, looking for seals, dolphins, sunfish, basking sharks, whales even, and the amazing birdlife around the stunning cliff scenery. Nothing can beat the spectacle of sitting in a small boat in blazing sunshine at sea level, rising and falling on the gentle swell, and staring up at the towering cliffs, with fulmars and cormorants wheeling about (I've done this on a surfboard). You will enjoy an authoritative and entertaining commentary by your host and RIB pilot, who has qualifications in marine biology. Depending on the sea conditions, you may get a little wet, but all passengers are provided with a waterproof overgarment. Do take care of your cameras though!

and make a deposit of £5 by Paypal, cheque or postal order. In the unlikely event of the sub-event being cancelled due to lack of demand or adverse weather conditions, all deposits will be refunded. Note that once the sub-event is confirmed, the deposits will not be refundable even if you are unable to attend. You may assign your deposit to another person if they wish to take your place. Final payment must be made on the day , in cash, on boarding the OUTback minibus, or at the dockside if you take your own transport.
If the event is over-subscribed, as in 2006, you will have no choice but to make a private booking for a different trip, subject to seats being available.
This sub-event is limited to EIGHT persons only, although the boat *may* accommodate a ninth, depending of the gross weight of the party.
