When two of his former pupils decide to fight in Afghanistan, the seemingly unconnected lives of himself, an investigative journalist (Meryl Streep) and a presidential wannabe congressman (Tom Cruise) become inexorably entwined.
Heavily political, Redford claims that 'It's about taking personal responsibility in the area of politics, national security and media… I do think there is a pervasive apathy among young people. But I sense change', which is portrayed in his latest work.
