19 August 2007: North Herts to soho pride
Once a year Soho's streets close to traffic for a fantastic day out. There is dancing in the streets, music and laughter as some of the best entertainers are on hand to keep the party going. So Come guys of Herts lets have a fun day out! Alan
Soho Pride is reclaiming the streets for the fifth year once more come Sunday the 19th August. And the line-up looks good as street parties gay-lore will litter London's gayest streets with dj's, entertainers, cabaret artists and MC's. London's largest free gay street party Soho Pride 2007 brings London's best out to play with gay businesses leading the way. Expect a market like no other with community and commercial stalls and enough eating and drinking opportunities to fed any hunger or thirst you may have.
Sponsored by GaydarRadio.com, the Mayor of London, GLA, Jose Cuervo, QX Magazine and many local gay businesses, Soho Pride 2007 will be taking over Soho Square, Carlisle Street and Rupert Street and staging something pretty special. Already confirmed is the now legendary Gaydar Girls / Candy Bar Stage line-up with London's leading lesbian dj including D'Jara, Minx, Philly and Slamma, MC's Brandy and Crystal and those infamous Candy pole dancers. Add QX Magazine's stage on Rupert Street and the Gaydar Radio stage on Soho Square and this is a queer beat fest indeed. Plus with Gaydar Radio broadcasting the whole event live you've no excuse to miss it.
Co-Organiser Kim Lucas is just one of many excited about Soho's special day. 'It's the coolest Pride event in the UK with the most positive reaction. Five years ago Adrian and myself felt that London needed its own (free!) Pride event in the heart of the gay village and we have more than met that demand. For me it means a lot of hard work but also immense pride in myself when it all comes off on the day!'
A day you'd be foolish to miss. They even have the weather sorted according to the one of The Candy Bar's finest resident dj's Philly. 'It just seems to bring out the best people, the best music and, yes, the best weather even!'
