30 January 2008: North Herts Foodies: January 2008 meal
The January dining out night in the North Herts/Beds area for fellow outers and other LGBT men and women. Wednesday 30 January, 7:30 p.m. at 'Raj Douth', Hitchin. New faces are always welcome.
These events have been running for over a year, usually with about 10-15 people attending.
After the excesses of the festive season, it seemed like a good idea to save some pennies, have a different diet but also have good food. Those who attended the last meal here said it was good: I can only vouch for the prawn vindaloo (cough! Thanks guys!)
It's a clean, ordinary place with friendly staff and the food is fine. Mid-week, they do a set menu for £10 per head, mixed starters, main courses and side dishes, selection of rices and naans. (Not a buffet: it's laid out down the table for you to help yourselves.) If you are a veggie, a separate selection will be done for you: please let me know so i can pre-order. I believe there is ample food provided for healthy appetites, especially judging by the doggie bag I was given.
Please note: if you have a fetish for poppadoms, they are extra!
