11 August 2007: LAKE DISTRICT concert
Heath Quartet & Alasdair Tait (cello) St Cuthbert's Church, Carlisle LDSM Ensemble Associate get to perform Schubert's great Cello Quintet alongside cellist Alasdair Tait
The Heath Quartet, one of Britain's most exciting young ensembles, are recognised for their exceptionally committed and vibrant playing. They are currently appointed MBF Ensemble Associate of LDSM. They are joined this afternoon by Alasdair Tait, cellist with the Belcea Quartet until 2006. Alasdair has performed worldwide with many leading artists and in 2004 formed the Ulysses Ensemble, a group of international chamber musicians dedicated to works of the 20th and 21st Centuries.

Two great international quartets come together to perform Mendelssohn's ever-popular Octet – perhaps the most remarkable work ever composed by a teenager. With a shared first half of Mozart and Janacek this concert promises rare and shared delight.
