28 October 2007: Joint GOC/Out Walk
A Gay Outdoor Club walk covering 3 counties. About 8-9 miles. You don't have to be a member of GOC or OUT to join in, and friends, male or female, straight or gay are welcome as are well behaved dogs.
The walk takes in three counties, Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire and if the weather is clear, some spectacular views. Meet at the car park 100m east of Alfred's Tower. For those who like to climb high towers there is the option to scale
Alfred's Tower. Cost £2.40 – If you wish to climb the tower please arrive early to allow time to climb it. The walk will start at the tower and includes walks, pasture, lanes and a few hills (ascent 290m in total). There are no pubs on route so bring a packed lunch.
As always, we aim not to take these things too seriously. There will be plenty of time to take in the views; just remember to come properly equipped with sensible footwear, and waterproofs, and plenty of water to drink.
