Icebreakers - Manchester's successful social/'coming out' group for gay and bi men - is 21 years old this year. To celebrate, we are participating in this year's Pride Parade and invite you to join us.
The Icebreakers group, run entirely by volunteers, has been holding its regular Wednesday night meetings in Manchester for 21 years. Throughout that time it has helped to support countless men through the process of 'coming out' and forming their first gay friendships.
We thought it was time to celebrate our success and so we're planning to make a big splash this year culminating in our first ever entry in the Manchester Pride parade.
We are hoping to make this event as inclusive as possible and invite Icebreakers group users past and present, their friends and family to join us in the parade.
If you have always been a spectator at this event and wondered what it's like to join in then this is your opportunity to find out! All that's required is for you to don a free Icebreakers T-shirt and take a gentle 2-hour stroll through the city centre with us while thousands of people cheer you on. You can wave a flag or carry a banner if you like; we'll do the rest. Refreshments will be provided.

This event is promoted by one of OUTeverywhere's Event Partners. Our partners are commercial venues, social groups or not-for-profit organisations that create events bringing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people together. Icebreakers is a self-help group run by volunteers. It exists to support gay & bisexual men in Greater Manchester through the process of 'coming out' and forming a social network. It also helps such men find friends when they are new to the area, or coping with feelings of isolation such as when a long-term relationship ends. It meets at 8pm every Wednesday night in central Manchester.
