28 June 2008: Hotwells Ale Houses, Bristol - a pub crawl
The second in a series of sociological and historical investigations into the alehouses of Bristol – an empirical study. In other words, a pub crawl along the Hotwell Road in Bristol
Following the huge success of last years pub crawl down the Gloucester Road organised by quickfind:boyzici it is time for another one. This time we will explore the pubs around the Hotwell Road. When Bristol was a working port this area had a vast number of pubs and houses of ill repute. Even now there are about 15 pubs and one boat selling real ale in less than a mile, and at least one house of ill repute.
The idea is to meet up at the Nova Scotia Hotel and move off at 1.30 to visit a few of the pubs along the Hotwell Road heading in to town.
There should be something for every one as the pubs have an amazing variety of real ales, cider, larger and diet coke.
I'll get out a list of the pubs we'll visit closer to the event and mobile numbers to ring if you can't join at the start.

live in Hotwells, central Bristol. fairly laid back and enjoy good company and a few laughs (don't we all?). many interests but music, all types, is very important, listening/playing and sometimes performing (piano), and I like tinkering around with classic cars but not to the extent of owning an anorak or stange hat.
