5 October 2007: HomoElectric
For Hetros, Homos, Lesbos and Disko asbos We run a bi-monthly four roomed event in Manchester at Legends (whitworth St.) We have 3 live bands, and music that covers every genre from electro-rock and roll suicide
HomoElectric
Friday 5th October
After an intimate Manchester Mardi Gras gathering in The Tunnel, Homoelectric returns, to its normal labyrinthine lair at Legends', with a stealth line up of anarchists, rioters, punks, electro porn peddlers, scenesters, and soul boys.
Room 1 The Tunnel
Regular drop out Will & James Tramp will this month be joined by the infamous Jonny Slut. Jonny started out in 1980 with the seminal band Specimen' who arguably pioneered the Goth Movement both musically & stylistically. Unusual for a guitarist Jonny became the face of the band and in 1982 they opened The Batcave in Soho. Since then Jonny hasn't stopped raising hell. He has since gone on to form bands Diskord Datkord, and currently Atomizer. Jonny comes to Homoelectric in his guise as DJ & promoter of the ambisexual Nag Nag Nag night at The Ghetto, Soho. Named after a Caberet Voltaire track, the weekly Wednesday night plays pop, funk, electro, 80's new-wave and synth. With remixes for previous Homoelectric guests Siobhan Fahey, Kings Have Long Arms & Ape Drape Escape and releases on DJ Hell's International DJ Gigolo' Jonny Slut's anarchy will be met enthusiastically.

Room 2 The Mineshaft
Another loud live line up this time with:
XX Teens (Xerox Teens)
Signed to Mute Records (home to Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Erasure, Nitzer Ebb, Goldfrapp, Caberet Voltaire Nag Nag Nag) they have recently been remixed by the mighty Andrew Weatheral who was with us in August. The punksters come to unleash their maniacal sound in The Mineshaft fresh from a summer of festival appearances at Get Loaded In The Park and Bestival, before going on to support Simian Mobile Disco on their live shows.

Pint Shot Riot
Influenced by the spiky rhythms and even spikier lyrics from the likes of the Clash, the Jam and the Kinks. Pint Shot Riot's songs talk not of despair but of hope, not of everyday mundane life but of everyday's dreams.
Riotous behaviour on support dates with Little Man Tate, The View, The Enemy, Dirty Pretty Things and a spot at Alan McGee's Death Disco night at the Notting Hill Arts Centre have led to playing the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury 2007. The boys were Radio 1 DJ Steve Lamacq's choice as one of twenty unsigned bands to play the prestigious festival and they went down a storm with the wet and muddy crowd.
A band who rock with an indie attitude with observational town life lyrics, yet exude an infectious catchy pop sensibility, this is not aggressive anarchy in the UK this is the sound of a positive call to arms, see you down the front, lets riot!

SaltyLips
New Manchester based 3-piece electro outfit Salty Lips come to play the stage of their regular haunt, having recently appeared on the Mardi Gras stage. We expect nothing less than a mayhem of orgiastic filthy lyrics, beards and bellies on show.

Room 3 The Main Room
Regular Homoelectrician Neil Scott, of El Diablo's Social Club & Nish Nash Nosh fame, returns to us after a summer away alongside newest resident Jamie Bull (SpeedQueen, Wrapped In Plastic). They will be playing an eclectic selection of soul, funk, rare groove, 80's boogie, disco and house.
Room 4 The Piano Bar
The Beards are joined this time by Max M from Porn Flakes Queer Crew in Milan playing a set of deep acidic minimal electronica, and Matt Payne of Indigo & Klastic Plaxon.
