GPN Photographic Walk - Cambridge, Cambridge, London
31 August 2008: GPN Photographic Walk - Cambridge
The gay photographers network are heading to Cambridge. Walk with your camera and take pictures of this historic and beautiful city. If you are just starting out with photography come and share in the expertise of the group. Picnic an option too.
Meet at Cambridge Railway Station
In general the walk will be at a gentle pace - you can join and leave the group as you want. Plenty of watering stops along the way and of course a long slow lunch.
An opportunity to share your best images will be organised at a future event.
ROUTE
Meet 'n' greet the group at the Station
Walk out on Station rd, cross the Hills rd and 1st left onto Bateman St, at the end of Bateman st is the University Botanical gardens.
Out on to Trumpington St and right towards the town centre past the Fitzwilliam Museum, head along Trumpington Street and can head around to the Backs where if the wather is good we can sit by the river and have a beer from nearby pubs
Back to the town Centre and what is the main Architectural treat in Cambridge, Kings College and it's equally famous Chapel..... it would be worth paying the fee and going inside for a wander. (lunch just before we go in)
Visit Jeesops camera shop ( Colum has organised a discount at his mangers discretion, and so is open to everyone along that day.... it can be as much as 70% depending on what one purchases)
After, and depending on the time we could stroll though town up Bridge St, Castle St to Castle Hill, the site of a Norman fortress (if memory serves me correctly) or we can just head over to Jesus Green and the banks of the Cam for a beer
