Photo walk from Hammersmith to Putney via the London Wetlands Centre. The 43 hectare Centre is the best urban site in Europe to watch wildlife, an international award winning attraction http://www.wwt.org.uk/centre/119/london_wetland__centre.html
Fingers cossed that we have some good weather at last for our first photographic outing of the year. The walk from Hammersmith to the Wetlands centre goes across Hammersmith Bridge - well worth a stop for a few photographs. While walking on the towpath you will most probably come across boats full of fit men rowing (and women) as there are lots of rowing clibe sin the area.
The wetlands centre is for loves of nature - so bring your longest lens :-) Facilities at the centre are good - so bathrooms and food/coffee etc is available. Unless you bring your own then lunch will be at the wetlands centre cafe.
After we have had our fill of photographing birds we will hit the river towpath again and aim for Putney Bridge (about 25 mins).
Note: Entrance fee is about £8.50 to the Wetlands Centre - there are concession prices - see the website.
