28 July 2007: Gay Outdoor Club/OUT Walk and Pub Meal
Our second Saturday evening walk of the summer. An easy 4 mile walk with the chance of a pub meal in a typical Somerset country pub afterwards.
This is our second Saturday evening walk of the summer. A 4 mile walk around Hood Monument and Street Hill. Easy walking with one long hill up and one descent. Opportunity for meal or drinks in the pub after the walk.
It's a good way to meet people off the scene and if you're not a regular walker one of these shorter Saturday evening walks is a painless way to get started.
We are not superfit, and we don't take it all too seriously. You will need to have decent, strong shoes or boots as well as waterproofs, and you would be well advised to bring some water and a small snack. You do not have to be a member of the GOC or OUT to take part.
But there'll be a chance for a meal in the pub afterwards. It's a pleasant Somerset village pub that does good, cheap, standard pub food. We've tried it and we liked it.
