What's happening?
An 8-9 mile circular walk in the urban countryside of London Colney on both sides of the M25. Much of the route is hard-standing farm track. Views of the some (!) West Anglia plains at lunchtime.
What should I bring?
You might find binoculars, telescopes or equivalent to be worth using on this walk. The walk has some long distance views with bits and pieces worth seeing.
The route is also good for practice orienteering, for which you will need your own Ordnance Survey map and a compass.
Please bring a large packed lunch and plenty of water. Recommend plastic sheeting to sit on (for lunch)(but don't eat it).
Sturdy walking boots are strongly recommended for this walk.
What is Herts GOC?
Herts GOC is a local branch of the Gay Outdoor Club ( http://www.goc.org.uk/ ). It promotes the practice, learning and refining of outdoors activities and skills.
GOC has its own annual subscription fee. Prospective members are welcome to "try before you buy".
