5 February 2008: Gay Clowning - finding and playing your Inner Clown
The Inner Clown is the free, fun, spontaneous and playful part of you that copes with life without being concerned about getting it right or being clever all the time. Come and enjoy yourself without any pressure to perform or conform.
Back by popular demand, another opportunity to find and play your Inner Clown' This is not the big shoes and squirty flowers kind of clown. This is the free, fun, spontaneous and playful part of you that copes with life without being concerned about getting it right or being clever all the time. We will be working with movement, voice, play, games and short improvisations in a safe, supportive and caring environment where there will be no expectation to perform. There may be an opportunity to do something individually in front of others but only if you want to.
All are welcome, no experience is necessary.
This workshop will help you:
*Connect to your spirit of play and joy
*Rediscover your openness and spontaneity
*Laugh and have fun!
For many this kind of clowning has a spiritual dimension. It takes people to a place of playfulness where they experience a naïve and childlike state of being, and where they allow themselves simply to be present in their joy and laughter. This state is like The Eternal Child that lives deep within each of us, the part that speaks to us simply, with clarity and wisdom. That Eternal Child appears naturally to us in various ways. Many people find that one of those ways is through the delight of finding and playing with their Inner Clown'.
What people have said:
'I felt totally safe in your hands and inspired by you'
'Great to be in a group where your sexuality is not as issue'
'A total joy! Great facilitators and so much fun'
Gay Clowning will be led by Carol Thompson and Paul MacDonald.

The Out Spirituality Group is a friendly meeting of like-minded gay people who have an interest in spirituality. We look at a variety of topics and issues, with the aim of enabling people to broaden their knowledge and experience of spiritual matters (whatever that means for each of us).
There are opportunities to discuss our journey thus far, where we are at, and where our journey may be taking us.
Whilst the prime focus is on spirituality, by participating in the evening we have an opportunity to build friendships and to network and to form connections that will have a positive effect on our lives and potentially in ways that we cannot yet envisage. It is more than meetings!!
We have a pseudo-event dedicated to the friendship and networking side of things - see quickfind:318866
After the meeting we go to a local gay pub, where space is reserved for us. This is a further chance to continue discussion and to get to know people. On this occasion only, food is available at no charge - and lots of it!!
Our fortnightly meetings on Tuesday evenings are advertised on the Events' section of OUT, and also on our website: http://www.gayspiritualityonline.org
Nothing is ever set in stone, so please do let us know your views on the group in general, meetings that you have attended, and the sort of topics that you would like us to cover. The best way of doing that is to complete the feedback form on our website. Or send a message via OUT to the event organiser.
