Serenata are staging an evening of song and piano music featuring outeverywhere members Ko Honda and Anthony Yates at Lauderdale House, Highgate, London N6 5HG on Friday, 12th March 2010 at 7.30pm
Outeverywhere members Anthony Yates (tenor) and Ko Honda (pianist) join forces with Brian Benedict (piano) , Jessica Chalmers(soprano) and Eleni Katerini (mezzo-soprano) for a lively evening of music for piano duet (Schubert F minor Fantasia and Faure's Dolly Suite) and songs by Schumann (Frauenliebe und Leben) and Poulenc as well as duets by Rossini. The programme will feature a group of songs by Hadjidakis who wrote the hit song, Never on a Sunday made famous by Melinda Mercouri. The cycle of songs was written to commemorate his male lover.
Brian and Ko are both very experienced concert pianists(several members enjoyed their performances at a concert at the same venue last August). Anthony Yates has performed for many years on the concert platroom and in opera houses. This will be his 3rd appearance at Lauderdale House in the last two years.
Lauderdale House is situated in the beautiful grounds of Waterlow Park(between Archway Tube and Highgate village). The concert will take place in the intimate downstairs gallery. This is ideally suited for salon music; imagine having beautiful music played or sung in your front room!!
