Dorset ChillOUT, Dorchester, Dorset
17 February 2008: Dorset ChillOUT
New monthly OUT gathering in Dorchester. Everyone welcome. Guys, girls, couples, singletons, oldies, youngsters, young-at-heartsters, gay, lesbian or whatever. Friendly atmosphere in great space. Come and join us. Over 40 came along to the first one!
Have a latte, glass of wine, make new friends, chill-out, chat, network. An alternative to the scene where you can meet up in a friendly environment.
:: Friendly welcome
:: We have whole venue to ourselves
:: Covered outdoor courtyard (where smoking is permitted)
:: Wines, bottled beer and lagers available
:: An extra room available if numbers are high
:: Fascinating and charming venue
:: Cream teas and toasted tea cakes and cakes
We suggest a donation of £1 per person to thank the staff for opening on a Sunday specially for us. The venue is dedicated to this event and will not open to the general public.
Napper's Mite is a significant piece of Dorchester history now a restaurant, but originally a set of almshouses built in 1616. The oldest building in South Street and one of the oldest still in use in the town. It has links with the novelist Thomas Hardy and with William Barnes, the famous Dorset dialect poet. Our first Chillout in November had over 40 people from various gay and lesbian networks in the region. So there'll be more present than those you'll see on the guest list here. We're hoping for good numbers again. If you are coming, please click *definite*. We'd like idea of numbers so we can let venue know ahead of time.
Hope to see you there.
