10 November 2007: Deutscher Stammtisch
This will be a mainly german spoken event, so ideal for my fellow Germans, others that speak german and those who like to practice, brush up and learn german. The event will be held in the 1st German London pub in SE11.
This will be the 1st german spoken Stammtisch held in London in an actually german pub.
What does the word Stammtisch mean?
The word Stammtisch is German. It is not easily translated into English but it means something like "regular's table" or "regular get-together".
It's simply a german term for a group of people that meets regularly at a pub for a chat, a laugh and a pint.
The idea of this event is to meet other German guys and girls and others that do already speak german. This might also be a great way to brush up your german if you do already speak it and like to practice you german.
The pub this will be held is an actual german pub in London. You will be able to sit down and have a german beer, as all the beers are imported from Germany.
There will also the optional german sausage (BBQ) with homemade bread and potato salad, specially made for that event for just £1.50 a portion. You can't beat that, can you??
I'm planning to have this event every other, or every 1st Saturday of the month. Depending how often others like to meet up there. Open to suggestions.
