20 May 2007: Creative Writing Workshop with the Editor of Chroma Magazine
Ever read a great book and felt inspired to write but did not know where to start? Have you got a desire to unearth a hidden talent? This workshop will help you develop fresh ideas, generate material, and set new goals.
What's the Day About?
The focus of this practical creative writing workshop will be on developing fresh ideas, generating material, and setting new writing goals. The workshop is designed to provide you with the tools to keep writing, and to give you the space to create stories and discuss your writing in a safe and non-judgemental environment. For beginners upwards, this course is brought to you by Shaun Levin, Editor of Chroma magazine and authour of two books.
Who's It For?
The workshop is devised to suit everyone. Whether you're plotting or shaping your novel, writing short stories, looking for ways to jump-start your writing, or just want to experiment with new ways of writing, this practical creative writing workshop will boost your confidence, inspire your prose, and help you deal with writer's block.
What Will the Course Cover?
Voice is what distinguishes one writer from the next. So, how do you find a voice? Do we each have a range of voices? Can a story have more than one voice? Through practical exercises, we'll explore some of these questions, and experiment with different writing voices. You'll tap into your own stories as a rich resource for fiction and non-fiction writing, and focus on some aspects of the writer's craft.
