Clapham Bank Holiday Real Ale Pub Crawl, Stockwell, London, London
29 August 2011: Clapham Bank Holiday Real Ale Pub Crawl
We are Lesbian and Gay Real Ale Drinkers (LAGRAD), part of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), and we're visiting a few good real ale pubs in South London starting near Stockwell tube station and finishing just near Clapham Junction railway station.
Just logged on to check the details of Ed's Bank Holiday Monday crawl that he asked me to post and I can't believe it's not there. I mustn't have got a roundtoit. So apologies for the late notice, but if you're reading this in time and you're free on Monday, as with all Ed's crawls, it'll be a good time. Hope you can make it. Here it is.
This Bank Holiday Monday crawl is an all-afternooner. We'll start at 12 noon in the Priory Arms (SW8 2PB), a freehouse near Stockwell station, which has 5 real ales on draught (usually including Hopback Summer Lightning), and a good selection of German and Belgian bottled beers. They also have plenty of food, including tapas and burgers (vegetarians well catered for).
We'll move on around 1:30pm towards Clapham, where we visit three pubs quite close together. First will be Bread & Roses (SW4 6DZ), with three guest ales on tap. Next the Manor Arms (SW4 6ED) with four. And third the Rose & Crown (SW4 0JG), a Greene King pub with Abbot, St Edmunds, and 3 guests.
Praying for good weather, we then walk across Clapham Common to the Eagle Ale House in Battersea (SW11 6HG), a freehouse with 8 handpumps, specializing in ales from microbreweries; one real cider also on draught. Then finally up to Clapham Junction to the Falcon (SW11 1RU), a Nicholson's pub with up to 14(!) ales on draught. The crawl will finish around 7pm.
OUTeverywhere member organiser
This event has been added to the OUTeverywhere calendar by Billy Tipps from Brighton in the East Sussex area.
I'm a gregarious, socialble character, who likes going out and being in a group (two's a group though, if it's the right person). I'm rather partial to good real ales, of which there are many. I'm involved with Lesbian and Gay Real Ale Drinkers, part of the Campaign for Real Ale and I joined OUTeverywhere initially to organise real ale social events in London and the Brighton area
