Come and see my one man show. 'BULLY is a gripping tour-de-verse about one man's struggle against a life of violence. The punchy script unfolds at an alarming rate which will have you laughing out loud one minute and holding back the tears the next'
photo:565464 BULLY is a fraught but funny fast-paced journey through the life of a young man battling with bullies and bigots. The show deals with homophobic bullying at school and at home and the effects of isolation when you don't fit in. This is extended to the gay scene which in its own way can be a very exclusive club. The show also highlights domestic violence within a gay relationship and the things it can drive people to do. Even though the show delves into dark territory it is very funny. It is also littered with many pop culture references from the 70's to the present day with Action Man, Steve McQueen, Smash Hits, The Magic Roundabout, Bucks Fizz, Chopper bikes, fag hags, Jade Goody, Hollyoaks and the ginger one from Girls Aloud being just a few that are dealt with.
This is NOT a piece of gay theatre but a piece of theatre about a gay man. You will be relieved to hear there is not one sequin or showtune in sight. This man is a man's man and that's how he likes his men.
PLEASE NOTE that Saturday's performance is being filmed for the documentary 'Rage against the scene'. You will not be featured on camera at all but if you come make sure you laugh really loud! Thanks!
