The annual Bristol Vehicle Rally and Running Day organised by the Bristol Vintage Bus Group
Vehicle rally and running day
The open day 2007 will take place on Sunday 12th August, and will be run in conjunction with the Avon Valley Railway, to repeat the BVBG highly successful formula for creating a day of transport nostaglia.
A static display of buses will take place at Brislington Park and Ride site (just off the A4 between Bristol and Bath).
From the park and ride site, vintage buses will provide free bus services to the Group's premises and to the Avon Valley Railway.
Free vintage bus rides will also run from the Group's base and from the Avon Valley Railway to other places of interest in Bristol at frequent intervals through the day.
The theme of the 2007 event will be "celebrating 1000 years of exposed radiator Bristols". This is of course a wild claim, and is based on the combined ages of the vehicles, because although Bristol Commercial Vehicles have been around for a while, they didn't actually pre-date William the Conqueror.
