Bristol Historic Walk 6, Bristol, Somerset

20 February 2010: Bristol Historic Walk 6

It's time for another Bristol Walk. The theme of this walk will be James Millerd's 1673 map, the first map of Bristol to be drawn from a measured survey. We will discover what survives today on the map as well as what has changed.

The popular historical walks around Bristol are back! Although Matthew (known as clayboy and ark-at-ee on here) moved on from OUT some time ago he's decided to do another one of his popular historical walks around Bristol, and asked me to give it broader publicity.

The theme of this walk will be James Millerd's 1673 map, the first map of Bristol to be drawn from a measured survey. We will discover what survives today on the map as well as what has changed.

The walk's starting point is subject to change, but for now we plan to start outside St Peters church in Castle Park.

Please feel free to invite people and message me if you have any questions.

After the walk we will probably find somewhere for a meal for those that have worked up an appetite and after that we'll probably find a pub. More details to follow.

photoI think I'm a fairly average guy, down to earth and all that. Not into the clubbing side of the scene but like quiet pubs/bars. Like to socialise and meet new people.
