22 August 2007: Bristol Cinema - The Simpsons Movie
After 17 years the wait is over! The Simpsons Movie confirms Groening's creation as the smartest, funniest, most inventive cartoon in history. 86 minutes of pure comedy gold (or yellow).
"reconfiguring The Simpsons as a feature film has meant scaling back the ensemble of minor characters and building up the conventional drama within the family itself; this has meant some sacrifices but it is brilliantly done ... Homer is a joy whenever he's on, especially when he conceives an inappropriate love for a pig. ... So many movies promise what they could never deliver in a million years. The Simpsons movie gives you everything you could possibly want, and maybe it's a victim of its own gargantuan accomplishment. Eighty-five minutes is not long enough to do justice to 17 years of comedy genius. It's still great stuff."

Ticket Prices: £4.30 (£3.30 & £3.00 concessions). There is no formal 'advance booking', but you can purchase your ticket from the box-office at any time during the day of the screening.
This screening is at 8:40pm. Remember that Wednesday's can be busy (all those Orange people!) so please allow time for queuing.
Henleaze is off the centre of Bristol, but is actually quite easy to find - right next to Waitrose, which provides handy car-parking for the vehicularly enabled among us!
