5 February 2008: BRIGHTON 10PIN CHALLENGE
Brighton Lesbian and Gay Sports Society (BLAGSS), supported by a grant from Pride Brighton & Hove, hosts the Winter Pride Ten Pin Challenge on Tuesday, 5 February 2008 at the Marina Bowlplex
The increasingly popular BLAGSS Winter Pride Ten Pin Challenge is on Tuesday, 5 February 2008. BLAGSS will take over the entire Bowlplex at Brighton Marina for the night. The games start at 7.00pm, with an awards ceremony and informal social event afterwards. It's open to teams and individuals and costs £7 per player.
Last year's Challenge was a huge success, attracting over 160 bowlers from 26 different LGBT community groups. Members of the BLAGSS bowling team competed against Brighton Gay Men's Chorus, Sussex Gay Professionals and the Brighton Bandits FC among others to take the trophy.
Patrick James, organiser of the BLAGSS bowling group, said: ‘We're advising interested groups or individuals to book early as the event was over-subscribed in 2007. You don't need any experience to take part but to get an edge you can always come along to one of our monthly sessions beforehand to learn the difference between your strikes, spares and splits.'
