12 July 2008: Bourne Free Pride Festival
The annual event, now in its 5th year, is an annual celebration of all diversities that live in Bournemouth and the constant strive towards universal equality for all – through celebration, entertainment and awareness. See: www.bournefree.co.uk
Bourne Free Pride Festival 2008:
Friday 11th - Sunday 13th of July
In 2008 the Bourne Free Pride Festival will be taking over the seaside resort of Bournemouth for 3 days, from Friday 11th until Sunday 13th of July!
Last year the event attracted thousands of people from across the UK with a nautical themed Beachfront Parade, a Live Show in the gardens and a brand new Street Party.
In 2008 there will be even more going on so the event has been extended across an entire weekend, Bournemouth will be the only place to be.
JAZZ NIGHT
A brand new Jazz Night at the Lower Gardens bandstand is being introduced for 2008, the evening of music starts at 7.30pm on Friday 11th July and will provide 3 hours of free entertainment for everyone to enjoy.
PRIDE PARADE
Saturday 12th July will be a time to 'Support our Services' with a fun-filled procession through Bournemouth from 1pm. Everyone is invited to get dressed up as sexy doctors and nurses, hunky soldiers and sailors, and firemen too!
LIVE SHOW
From 2pm to 5pm on Saturday 12th July the trademark Bourne Free show takes place with a variety of entertainment at the Lower Gardens bandstand. There will be a great line up of top acts including singers and musicians.
STREET PARTY
This year the massive Street Party in The Triangle is being extended from 5pm through to 11pm on Saturday 12th July. There will be a larger stage with entertainment, a massive beer tent, VIP area and a range of market stalls.
MORE FUN!
Finally on Sunday 13th July there will be a special afternoon event at The Branksome, the Grand Raffle will be drawn in the evening at The Xchange and there's even more planned with details to be revealed very soon.
Bourne Free Wristband required for entry to the Street Party and all gay venues over the Bourne Free weekend. These are available in advance for £5 from the website (http://www.bournefree.co.uk) or on the night for £10.
