19 January 2012: Beginner's Night (SM) at The Hoist, Vauxhall, London
3rd Thursday each month. I've been several times and it's a voyeur's paradise with a chance to join in. Demonstrators show you the ropes (and tie you up in them if you want) and it's a friendly, relaxed atmosphere among guys of all ages.

There is a theme for these nights but it's not east to spot what it is. 19th January is "Rope Bondage" which won't suit all of us but could still provide an interesting and entertaining evening. NO attitude, lots of opportunity to chat and compare notes. Music not loud.
A friend of mine is really into the S&M stuff, but I'm not. I like to watch from the sidelines rather than get stuck in (as it were). It's relaxing, non-threatening and might show you a side to gay life you might want to explore in more detail.

I'm working in London now, living with my London partner for the first time. I still feel like a tourist in London and love it. I go to the theatre regularly with gay friends - join us. I've found a gay group to play squash with and I cycle into work to keep fit, too. I go back to my house in Lincolnshire every other weekend. I'm keen to meet guys in London
