Gilbert and Sullivan's masterpiece, HMS Pinafore is brought to light in glorious style. Who knew the Victorians were so camp - probably not even them! Traditional and fresh, old school in a new uniform! Theatre at its best.
This summer sees a new and challenging production of Gilbert and Sullivan's HMS Pinafore. Set aboard said ship, this is a musical romp through some of their best loved tunes. In a break with tradition, the female parts will also be played by men!
Up and coming director Thom Southerland has created an exciting new version of this witty classic for the Union's summer audience. With a large all male cast, there will be singing and dancing a-plenty, as sailors and crew get ready to sail.
The production will appeal to musical theatre lovers, comedy fans, and purists alike. Very true to the original intent, the cast are pulling out all the stops to take the audience into the orginal musical theatre world of fun, singing and dancing. The twist is that even the girls are guys!
