1 May 2010: 5th IOW Steam Railway Spring Real Ale Festival
A "tube" journey with a difference, followed by a trip on the Isle Of Wight Steam Railway to their Real Ale Festival.
The fifth IOW Steam Railway Spring Real Ale Festival
A "tube" journey with a difference, followed by a trip on the Isle Of Wight Steam Railway to their Real Ale Festival.
A trip down Ryde Pier on the Island Line 1938 built ex London Underground Bakerloo Line trains at 1108 to Shanklin arr 1131. Depart at 1140 and arrive at Smallbrook Junction at 1155, to connect with The Isle of Wight Steam Railway.
At 1213 take a trip to Wotton arrive 1234, and after having a quick look round at the station, depart on the 1242 back to Haven Street arrive 1248.
The remainder of the afternoon will be spent sampling some delightful drinks at the Real Ale Festival in Haven Street; visiting the railway museum; or taking a round trip on the Steam Railway.
Return by train from Haven Street at 1700 arrive Smallbrook Junction at 1712 to connect with the Island Line train at 1733 to Ryde Pier Head arrive 1740 for the 1745 or 1815 ferry.
Admission to the Real Ale Festival is free and unlimited travel on the IOW steam railway is £9.50.

unlimited travel on both railways can be purchased from the guard at Ryde for £12.00
As usual I will be staying on the Island at the gay run Dorset Hotel in Ryde, and will do something bus related on the Sunday.
REAL ALE FESTIVAL
The Isle of Wight Steam Railway presents it's fifth Spring Beer Festival. Taking place at Havenstreet Station, the festival will be open on all three days of the holiday weekend from 11am to 10pm (5pm on Bank Holiday Monday)
