I was sitting at home yesterday and reading lots of threads on the rise and fall of organisations and coming from a capitalist family - yes aristocratic parents I asked myself is capitalism really such a bad thing?

Capitalism makes the people at the top feel very guilty of their fortunate lifestyle which then spurs on this amazing trend of philanthropy - which in turn benefits the greater social circles of society such as donations to build hospital wings / schools / crisis centres / the arts / bursaries for students / awards for amazing work etc.....

So when you look at the over all good that comes out of capitalism is it in the end - such a bad thing?

What are your thoughts lads?

I would question just how many of the top earners in business and industry subscribe to philanthropy.

While most forms of financial acts of generosity are broadly welcomed, and needed. You have to admit that charitable donations from the 'well off' are a drop in the ocean in comparison government grants and/or lottery funding.
