So I agreed to take the loan van on the return trip to the office, swapping with a colleague.

As I pull into the office car park, I see another van has blocked me. In a very clever move, I decide to enter via a tighter gap between a 4x4 and the office wall.... can you see where this is going?

I clear the gap after much careful manoeuvring and an 'all clear' from my colleague, I move forward slowly, only to hear this gut-wrenching scraping sound. I check and see I have scratched the corner of the 4x4 - eek!

I ask reception who it belongs to ... the MD!!!

So I have left him a message as he is in a meeting and am now sitting at my desk contemplating my fate.

Any vacancies out there?

In a previous company one of the directors would come in and throw his keys at you and say "park it for me".

Used to piss me off, so one day I noticed some bits of broken tail lights in the car park, so when I went back in the office I dropped the keys in front of him with the bits of tail light and said "you might want these bits".

He tell me to park his Jag again!

Good luck with your little accident!

Funnily enough our first instinct was to wipe the paint off the van and run inside whilst only sideways glancing the 4x4! Luckily my conscience prevailed. Ain't human nature dark?

Besides, there's CCTV out there.

Thank you! I don't think the MD will be too harsh. I don't know him that well but he's quite cool and collected so I shan't expect a firestorm reaction.

*Dries pits*

Ask him why he feel he needs to drive a bloody 4x4 anyway, and you were just trying to do him a favour so he can get a much more suitable car
